Mojul,
I'm sorry you feel as if your integrity and value as a poster has been attacked. I don't believe that that was anyone's intent. I was just stating my opinion on how I felt about the safety aspect of this whole issue. I'm not saying it's not the truth or isn't worth discussing. And of course you have the right to post info just as much as anyone else. I think you've brought up some valid points on this subject too. It was never my intent to strip you of your integrity. I only provided my opinion. I'm sorry to have caused any hurt feelings.

I appreciate your post Linnie especially since I was not referring to you as being one who attacked me. But thank you.

If infact you are referring to me, which I have a pretty strong feeling you are then I'd like you to know that I do not seek out and attack ANY posters on this board. If it seems that way, I apologize. Obviously we have very different views on many things. I don't see anything wrong with people agreeing to disagree or even having a little "debate" about subjects every once in awhile.... as long as it doesn't get personal or mean. It just so happens a few posters, for whatever reason, like to "challenge" my views more than anyone else's. I've said several times as far as this issue goes that I do not know EVERYTHING about Broadway...everything I have posted has been from personal experience, facts presented to me from people directly affected by these things and OPINIONS.
I found the thread you were referring to in which you said you were attacked

http://www.bernadette-peters.com/cgi-bin/pmessage.pl?action=read&fid=achat&mid=1382

I read it again just now. All I saw was people asking you who your friends were( including myself) thinking they might know them or have met them before. And saying who else they saw there.

What I don't understand is when I post some inside info/news( which is very often), that most of you would probably not hear anywhere else, its not appreciated( other than by the same 3 people) ...the post is ignored.... and on the other hand, when I post an opinion I'm attacked and everyone comes alive and responds...I just don't get that. I guess because many probably may just not have much to add to it.....but God forbid once I post an opinion or I post info which is incomplete ( probably because that's all I'm allowed to annouce at that time or that's all I know about it at that time) people jump on me and try to make me look like I have no idea what I am talking about by correcting me. I honestly try my hardest to post correct info. I check before posting...and I double check. I honestly do not like being told that I have no idea what I am talking about when I'm the one who usually posts all these inside things for you guys. I'd be the first to admit I'm wrong and I'd definitely correct myself if I were...I dont need people who really don't know about a situation( from a more inside point of view) doing that for me and making me look like an idiot( especially those who hide behind an "anonymous" name) I have no problem whatsoever with people who may not know anything about an issue posting they're opinions....its not my place to censor them....I just get annoyed when they tell me I am wrong. I honestly don't mean to sound conceited in saying that. I am well aware there are others who contribute great info but if you want to understand why I feel this way then check out the archives and you'll see what I am talking about.

I think everyone's opinions should be valued on this board...doesn't mean we all have to agree. I really do try very very hard not to pass judgement on anything or anyone without valid cause. It just bothers me that the people who probably use my info the most are the first to attack me( which doesn't happen as much as it used to but still does).

I hope Kevin doesn't delete this thread seeing as how this issue is a part of history...I really do think everyone's opinions deserve to be heard( like I said before, as long as they're not too personal or hurtful). Censoring people's opinions...as strong as they may be, isn't going to help anything. Obviously many of us are very passionate about Broadway. Musical theatre is an artform and art is objective...so yes, its pretty common for people not to have the same views.

Hey everybody! I know I rarely post anymore but I felt the need to post on this issue. It is very disconcerting to see these fights break out recently...and they have happened more than once. It does seem that for the most part, Cindy is one of the major posters who provide us with awesome information that is hard to find anywhere else...but I have also noticed that even when she posts information that is not debatable, some still feel the need to debate. I am honestly not trying to take sides in this situation but it just seems a little out of hand. Feelings of friends are being hurt unecessarily! Lets just all try to act mature about this and in the words of Sondheim, "move on"!!!

I chose and my world was shaken, so what? The choice may have been mistaken...the choosing was not, you have to move on......

Indeed. Move on... I don't want to delete the thread because the earlier insights in to the strike were interesting, so I'll just lock it.
