| posted: 6/10/2008 at 7:40:43 PM ET yes, I saw that blog today and could not for the life of me figure out who this blogger is mixing up with Bernadette because she was obviously not on Hello Larry and I don't remember anyone in the cast who would be easily confused with Bernadette. It's not like Madeline Kahn was in the cast or something. I actually really liked the show, Hello, Larry so I remember it fairly well.
"Particular mention must be made of Bernadette Peters, who turns up briefly in a sort of sparkly Glinda the Good costume. She's the reluctant muse sent to help Alice with her writing. The muse is dressed like Oz, sounds like Queens and behaves like a bored student adviser." Alice Film Review, The New York Times, December 25, 1990
"I'm one star away from Dolly Parton ... and Raymond Massey is between us. I hope we don't suffocate him." Bernadette Peters receiving her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, April 24, 1987

Registered: 5/3/2002 | posted: 6/10/2008 at 7:54:24 PM ET There used to be a man on the internet who insisted on numerous websites that Bernadette had costarred in a sitcom with Wayland Flowers & Madame. He was quite adamant. I also remember someone who said he didn't like Bernadette because he couldn't stand that movie she was in with Jerry Lewis. Right now on Bernadette's imdb page, there's a question from someone who's surprised that no one ever mentions the lawsuit she filed against her ex-boyfriend Billy Dee Williams.

From: Edinburgh, Scotland | posted: 6/11/2008 at 6:25:40 PM ET I don't know why, but the thought of Bernadette in one of those old Jerry Lewis films is not a good one.
I had dinner with a friend this evening who told me that she was in her kitchen cooking a meal last week when her 11 year old son called her into the living room to look at an actress on TV. When she asked him why, he said "Well, doesn't she look like Bernadette Peters!" .... This may not seem strange to you guys over the pond, but Bernadette is really not known here in the UK. The reason this 11 year old boy has Bernadette Peters on the brain may have a little to do with his frequent visits to my own humble little home.
My work is done.

Registered: 5/3/2002 | posted: 6/11/2008 at 7:20:43 PM ET Bernadette actually did work with Jerry Lewis once in one of those old Circus of the Stars TV specials back in the '70s. I saw a publicity shot of the two of them side by side in their ringmaster costumes. He looked crazed/maniacal, she looked vaguely apprehensive.
