There's a rather worrying reference to Ethel Merman and Mary Martin retiring to "the concert stage" here. But, on the bright side - let's hope someone puts some of this concert up on YouTube. It should be ab fab.

I did find this rather funny:

She greeted me with "Hi, this is Bernadette," in the cheerful tone of a neighborhood Girl Scout hoping to make a killing on thin mints.

poor bernadette.
that was horrible.
that journalist has my vote as
the village idiot.
out of the few[[and very few]]
positive things in that article,
was the part about "Shenandoah".
did the for contest year and
walked away with some of the
highest scores.

Depressing? Annoying? Horrible? Village idiot?

Now I'm worried that I don't love Bernadette enough .... I just thought one particular sentence was 'rather worrying'.

Well other than its Marvin and not Melvin and the dog character in the book is Douglas, based on Kramer, not named Kramer ...

And it's "Some Enchanted Evening," not "One Enchanted Evening."

But, yeah, this interview I liked.

Good proof reading girls! But you both missed that split infinitive and double negative.

Oh I saw them. I just didn't want to be that person!

Totally kidding. Can't claim I really read the article that closely.

I'm a huge fan of split infinitives (we're writing/speaking English, not Latin, dammit!). I also adore dangling participles, and feel no piece of writing is complete without one.

Hey, as long as you don't end a sentene in a preposition, I don't care what you split.
