Bernadette's outfit was very cute. I haven't even looked at the pictures yet. Martin Short didn't use her in the show. He used Jerry Seinfeld instead. It was funny when Brooks Askmasan (totally obliterated his name - the guy who was in Gypsy with Bernadette who is now in Martin Short's show) had to go into the audience to find a celebrity he made a joke about possibly not being able to find one. :-)
It was a very funny show with a quite a few good impressions including two wonderful, yet mean ones of Britney Spears and Renee Zellwiger. Since I'm not a fan of either of those ladies, I enjoyed it tremendously.

I've looked at the pictures now and unfortunately they didn't answer a question I had. Bernadette arrived with a tall, rather attractive gentleman. He walked on the red carpet with her so I thought he would show up in the pictures but I guess they didn't post those. I didn't recognize him as anyone I knew so I was hoping one of the sites would name him. Hmmm. Mystery continues. I was actually just behind that white panel to the left so once the celebrity went there I wasn't able to see them and I guess they moved him off and took solo pictures of her.
I am also continually shocked at how tiny Bernadette is when I see her up close and in person (not just on stage). I swear I could fold that woman up and put her in my pocket.

| posted: 8/18/2006 at 8:33:52 AM ET I too was at opening night. It was so much fun to see Bernadette, Andrea Martin, Christine Ebsersole(sp?), Matthew Morrison, Chevy Chase and Kathleen Marshall in the same theater. After the show, I walked out as Bernadette was and breifly chatted with her. She looked gorgeous as ever and said that she loved the show and its take on Rose's Turn. I, by the way, thought that, the Liza portion at Studio 54 and the Judy Garland imitation was priceless!!!

When he is Jiminy or narrarating, it is hilarious but mostly it falls flat of what I would expect from him.
Anyways, just an opinion to keep in mind. I know they have a rush policy for those interested.

But while I was watching it, I was thinking it would have a fairly limited audience - definitely older and very theater savy. There were a lot of references that you just wouldn't really get unless you were in one of those two categories. I think a lot of people, particularly the more touristy theater goers, who are going to come to the show thinking they are going to see a show about his career (which they will probably think they are familiar with) when in reality, its not about his career. It's completed fictionalized. I think the only truth on that stage was that he adored his wife, Nancy, and they had 3 beautiful children.
