Hi everyone,

I just bought the tape and it's great!---Although, I don't know much about musical theatre, it seemed great to me.

Does anyone else own this?

Of course, Bernadette was fantasic! :-D She sang 'Unexpected Song', which was GREAT! And she sang (not in order) 'Being Alive'--that was awesome too....she sang "Broadway Baby" w/ Maria Friedman, Julia McKenzie, and "The Broadway Babies"--(this song is on MP3 on WinMX). She also sang "You Gotta Get A Gimmick" w/ Ruthie Henshall and Julia McKenzie..lol she (Bernadette) sings w/ a trumpet...lol
Over all I loved the whole tape.

Oh, I forgot to note that "You Gotta Get A Gimmick" is also on Mp3 on Winmx if anyone wants to download it.

I know that movie is great!!! I just love it!! She is so amazing in it! And its remarkable how much she sticks out among the rest especially in broadway baby. That would have been great to see live!!

I also got the video a while back, and its when I first saw BP perform, other than films ofcourse. Apparently, BP Ruthie Henshall and someone else, did a strip for the Prince! Obv that isnt on the vid - if someone knows this is wrong, please correct me, but its what I heard.

Just to add... I also have WinMx, and I collected all the songs she sings on HMP from there - so they r all out there - just to let everyone know.

Ciao Ciao

Hi,

I have a question about Bernadette's "Being Alive" performance....is it just me or is it when Bernadette sings the last syllable 've' from alive, she kinda..accented (?) it...and she kinda had the facial expression that she didn't want it to end that way..(she smiled, w/ her eyes closed..)

Did anyone else notice that...or am I just way too observant on things like that? hehe

Thanks!

Stacy

I know exactly what you mean, but I think she liked it. I think she was happy she had enough breath left for the "VE" bit at the end, and was so overwhelmed by the applause she shut her eyes?! Anyway, thats just my oppinion. People interprate others performances differently, she may not have intended to give either of those feelings off! Whoooooo Knowssss, guess we will never know.
