Nothing that can be said will be the "right" thing to say. I hope your friends and family gives you lots of hugs. I hope you have a listening ear--someone who might not have known him well that you can introduce your darling husband to. Think about the wonderful and blessed 9 years of happinness you experienced--some people never even have a year of the kind of love that you have (and you STILL have his love--that remains always). I want you to know that you are the reason I became a musical theatre actress and then a director. I first saw you on the Mike Douglas show and marvelled at how you could cry at the perfect time during a song. I always drew upon that vision when I needed strength. I never got to be famous, but I did meet my husband while he was house manager to a cabaret show I was doing. The most wonderful evening was when he took me to see you on Broadway in "George." I will never forget that enchanted evening. I took my children to see you in "Annie." They loved you and now they take me to the theatre. I was married to the most wonderful prince for 10 years--a marriage that was not supposed to happen (I was too old, wrong religion, wrong financial status) but I married my best friend, the jigsaw piece that fit my life perfectly. He died at 33. I am glad he was a part of my life. I know you will go on because of the great love you were given. I am glad you are a part of my life, Bernadette.

I'm so sorry to hear about your husband. My heart goes out to you. I can't imagine losing the love of your life. You are in my prayers. I just feel so sad to hear about this. I've seen you on Live with Regis & Kelly and when you've talked about your husband and marriage you looked so happy. Again my heart goes out to you. One of your fans.
