The first time I saw it in the theater when it was first released, I disliked it so much, I almost walked out. The timing felt completely off and flat. Eventually I realized that the filmmakers were purposely putting the stress on unexpected moments in each scene. I still think it has some major flaws, but it has a very distinctive taste and it lingers in the mind in a way that a lot of more celebrated films don't.
And, welcome Scottie. I enjoyed your post.

| posted: 3/7/2006 at 12:26:03 AM ET I saw this movie for the first and only time last summer. I don't really have an opinion about the overall movie but I was watching it with my friend who had already seen it and kept turning to her saying "What is going on?" or "What did Bernadette just do?".
Welcome Scottie.

From: Edinburgh, Scotland | posted: 3/8/2006 at 8:53:01 AM ET Thank you for such a warm welcome. To answer Christine's question about "Let It Snow" - I have seen the film recently. I bought the Region 1 DVD and enjoyed watching it and consider it a sweet little film. I like the fact that she supports this kind of low-budget independent movie making. I love the sequence where she is riding in the red car with Marcus simply because we get to hear her sing a snippet of opera "O Mio Babbino Caro" - at least I'm pretty sure it is Bernadette's voice we hear. Perhaps I'm biased but (apart from Kipp Marcus who is in it all the way through) Bernadette is for me the most memorable character in Let It Snow. She certainly always makes her presence felt no matter how fleeting her appearance in these movies! In "Prince Charming" for instance her funny performance positively outshines that of the younger leads.
I am intrigued by a comment she made on a chat show in the 1980's where she says that she felt she hadn't yet done the work in films that she wanted to do ... I wonder if she still feels the same way or if she is satisfied with the way her film career has gone.
as Bernadette says....just keep moving on.....

That would actually be a really great question to ask her if any of us is ever at a meet-and-greet or interview type thing with her in the future.
