"She'll next turn her attention to a new album — 'more straightforward with a jazz trio.' She's listening to CDs to find the right mix of 'classic songs that have great lyrics without a lot of instrumentation around them.' "

I've long wanted to hear her sing with a trio--not sure what the other instrument would be, besides the piano and bass or cello--drums maybe? And of course it will be called "Jazz Baby".

They mentioned that Stella and Kramer were "howling" in the background. Now I'm confused. I thought there was a new dog in the picture.
Too bad about the pilot being picked up. It sounds though that she is interested in the idea of possibly another sitcom in the future.
Very excited about the idea of a new album. Now, if we could only find out who might be casting her in her next broadway show...

There is also another very glaring mistake in the article. At Broadway Barks the stars do not present the animals so that the audience members can "BID" on them. That would be terrible. They present them to the audience to show them what wonderful pets are up for adoption. If you want to adopt that particular animal you contact the shelter and go through their regular screening process. There is usually an auction of some sort but its for merchandise not live animals.
The new album is an exciting announcement.
Jean, I love the new avatar. Out of all the shots of her in that dress, you chose the one where she is hiking it up. Very funny.

I guess the author took some of her publicity stuff and plugged it into the article--for instance, living in New York and Los Angeles. They also just can't seem to get her concert schedule straight!
My final thought for now [if only]--I wonder if this album opens the way for Bernadette to play the smaller, more intimate venues with a trio.
(Thanks, Moljul--I don't mean to be disrespectful to her, but this shot just captured something.)

Here's hoping to see it "right" in Norfolk.

| posted: 7/29/2005 at 1:22:05 PM ET I've always thought that Bernadette would sound fantastic singing "They Say It's Spring" with the sort of arrangement that Blossom Dearie did with her jazz trio. Or should I say "it would be a gas if our chick would cut that track with her cats, she's definitely got the chops for it. Dig?"
