Very cute tidbit about a night the Gypsy cast was at Angus McIndoe from TheaterMania.com:
A night at Angus's that stands out in her memory was "when a fellow proposed to his girlfriend at the bar. They'd just seen Gypsy and the whole cast was sitting at tables around them. That's what makes this place so great: Customers see shows, then come here and see the actors they just saw onstage. The actors saw him give her the ring, then they signed their programs and posed for pictures."

It is a great place. It is my friends' and my favorite place to eat when we are anywhere near the theater district. And not just for the celebrities there (though that is fun and I've seen plenty). It is just a great place for meal and hanging out with friends. I even had my surprise birthday celebration there.

is it expensive? and do celebs just come randomly? or is it usually like casts and such?

It is very reasonable. And the celebrities are just there to have a meal just like the rest of us. Usually with family or friends. Though it does seem to be a favorite place for cast parties too.
That's what I like about it - its not touristy at all - just a neighborhood hangout.
