From Internet Network: 64.12.116.x | posted: 8/3/2004 at 1:01:29 AM ET I was wondering if anyone new about the timeline between Bernadette and Barbra's career. They were both young when they began to rise in fame. Did they know each other or run into each other, ya think? Are they friends or amiable? I mean Funny Girl, Dames at Sea . . .how did it all hit? Also, I saw her in a picture with Liza once? Friends? Just curious. Thanks.

She would have been in Dames at Sea around the time Streisand was winning her Oscar and Minnelli was first nominated for The Sterile Cuckoo. Now they're all peers, but I don't know how well any of them know each other. If by "friends" you mean "not enemies" then I guess they are. But if you mean "close" or "buddy buddy" then I guess they're probably not. No real information--just my personal take on it.

Liza--the only things I know about are that Bernadette and Liza sang a song together to open the Tonys in June (??) 1996, and also both performed in the Sondheim tribute at Carnegie Hall in 1992, although not, I think, together.
Truthfully, other than the obvious (MTM, Joel Grey) I have no idea who her friends are, professional or personal.

I believe I read or was told that Patty Saccente (her PA) and Judy Katz (her publicist) were two of her bridesmaids so one could assume they are friends beyond a professional relationship.

And I read somewhere that when he got an honorary doctorate, BP, Barbra and Julie Andrews (?) got together and sent him a flier on a plane that flew over his house, or something to that effect.
