yeah but you have to be happy for the little show who nobody thought would win. They never made it on anyone's prediction list and just came from behind. While I really enjoyed Wicked and figured it would win (and would have certainly deserved it), I agree that, for once, the Tony voters, voted with their hearts.

Absolutely! I predicted all the winners corectly except for Avenue Q and Idina Menzel. Totally unexpected upsets, but boy, did they deserve it! Oh yes!!

I am thrilled.

What a broadcast. And I cannot wait to see Big River when it comes to my area.

I could have done without the Bennett/Blige segments. Big deal.

Out of tonight's winners, there is none that I regret. That rarely happens.

I am very, very happy tonight. I don't know-there seemed such happiness in that broadcast-something that is missing from other awards shows...and even from previous Tony broadcasts. Maybe because no show hogged all the awards,as has been the case in previous years. And hey,how about Bernadette? Solid gold!

(Something puzzled me about the voice over announcement during Phylicia Rashad's walk to the stage. It didn't mention an Emmy-I'm surprised she never won once during all those years on The Cosby Show.)

Christine,I hope you feel better. Brandon,I hope those nachos were tasty, and that the cheese didn't get too goopey. Everyone else, good night. I will be away for a few days as I am going to Dallas for an interview. Wish me luck.

Jenn

Jenn, you know what the reason is? Bill Cosby, just like Bob Newhart, does not believe in competing for awards, so he never submitted his shows for the Emmy. Otherwise, I'm sure both shows would have won multiple times.

I was thrilled that "AVENUE Q" won! Didn't you just imagine that this was a group of theater lovers putting on the show, not a corporation? It reaffirms our love for the musical theater -- that pure talent without a reliance on spectacle is what it is all about!!!

I thought the Tony's were phenominal! Bernadette looked outstanding! She is perfection! I was so happy for Idina Menzel - she really deserved that award. I was at a party and we waited until "best actress in a musical" award was given out to toast our champagne - thank goodness our hopes were right - Idina won!!!!!I was happy for Avenuw Q, but I still wanted Wicked to win. But Avenue Q definitely deserved it - most all of them are new to broadway and are so very talented. YAY!

I love Wicked, so I was so happy that Idina won best actress, but I was also happy that Avenue Q won best musical. I was routing for them big time.
The best part of the evening had to be when Hugh Jackman pulled Sarah Jessica Parker up on stage when he was performing as Peter Allan. hahaha And Carol Channing! She cracks me up.

The awards were definitely spread out this year. There was really no big sweep unless you count Assassins getting 5 as the most. I'm glad because they are ALL wonderful shows.
My only disapointments:
I wanted Isabelle Keating to win best supporting actres in a musical, and I wanted Tova Feldshuh to win best actress in a play. Other than that I was thrilled with all outcomes.
