Can someone please tell me what the the best featured actor/actress in a musical is? Who qualifies for nominations?

I know I'll be watching them at home too. I was supposed to go to a Tonys-watching party at a friend's house tonight, but I woke up sick this morning. So it will be me in pajamas with a warm blanket, sitting on my couch instead. lol That's okay though...as long as I get to see them I'm happy.
We missed you, darlin!!!!!!

And oh my GOD, did we scream for Idina Menzel!! I think the people down the block heard us! (Ironic. Because I also spent the entire like, hour and a half previous completely nauseous-nervous for my gal, so when she lost... it is funny, but I was really so much more elated that it was Idina that won than it was Kris who lost.)

And Bernadette looked adorable. She was also cute at the rehearsal. She kept waving to all of us in the mezz. She looked like she was having a fantastic time. What was funny was when she started reading the teleprompter, and stopped, and said, in a frustrated-playful voice, "I'm sorry, but is that as big as the words get?" lol.

Q: Any funny incidents or accidents with Kristin (Chenoweth)?

Norbert Leo Butz: I have this Errol Flynn moment where I swing in on this rope. One night in San Francisco, I let go of the rope and the rest of the actors started cracking up. I turned around and the rope had literally tied around Kristin's head and got caught on her crown and was pulling her off stage. It was like watching Barbie get hung.

A few pictures are posted on Film Magic, Getty and Wire Image...Wire Image also has some shots from the "gift lounge" with Bernadette. Too bad they are all the size of a postage stamp!

Hi Everybody! Mandy - What is the link for Wire Image? I loved Bernadette's dress! She looked so pretty and I loved that she got such a roar from the audience when she came out. What fun. I loved the Tony's last night. I haven't seen Ave Q, but I thought it was cool that they won after I heard the writers give their speech. I finally saw Boy From Oz just on Saturday night and I was totally smitten with Hugh! He was so fun! I thought he was great last night and I was so happy that he won! I was also happy that Idina won too, especially since she had amazing competition.

It should be under www.wireimage.com Then type her name in the search box. The same goes for www.filmmagic.com
There are also some on http://editorial.gettyimages.com/ms_gins/CFW/home.aspx?pg=1 from the Tonys and from some fashion awards today. Don't forget to click on the photos from Getty...you can see them larger!

I'm not sure who Stan Herman is...maybe someone can enlighten me...and does anyone know who her "guest" was in the film magic photos...my eyes are good but not good enough to tell who it is.

Omigod! Stan Herman is still alive! He was a designer who did a series of super-campy TV commercials in the sixties that always began with him saying, in a very nasal voice, "Hi, I'm Stan Herman, for Mr Mort." You pretty much have to be ancient, like me, to remember them. But they were joked about and imitated a lot back in those days.

If they are the pictures I think they are, her "guest" is her sister, Donna.

No it definately is NOT her sister...it looks to be an older gentleman. Maybe it was just some guy standing near her when the photo was taken and it was mislabeled.

Here's another picture I found from today's event:

Thanks for the info on Stan Herman. He's obviously still alive unless they are pulling a "Weekend at Bernie's." Maybe they've got some of the Avenue Q puppeteers pulling his strings!

PS...got some more cicadas from a different preschooler today. Thank goodness only 8 more days of school!

Silly me, I completely forgot the Tonys were on last night until they'd already started...and then I went out and couldn't tape them becuase my father was taping something else. Alas! I suppose there's always next year, assuming my airheaded self does not forget again. But anyway, I hope everyone enjoyed them.

awww I missed you guys too Jaime. I kept wishing I was watching with you guys. I screamed when Idina won too (in a good way) I was so happy for her....and I screamed again when Avenue Q won. lol Great show this year.
Poor Bernadette. lol She probably needed her glasses for the teleprompter. If Nicole Kidman has to wear hers, Beradette could too. They can start a trend. haha

Just a few observations...Bernadette looked beautiful in that copper gown..a perfect match for her lovely hair style..I thought they could have chosen a better song for Hugh that would have shown off his voice to greater advantage...Mary Blige's rendition of "What I Did For Love" was simply terrible! No feeling,no shading,"no regrets"..what were the planners thinking!?!But, all in all , the show was wonderful..not too many stupid remarks by the presenters. Do you think the Sarah J. Parker bit with Hugh was planned? I felt it was a little embarrasing ...

Patty - I really think the Sarah Jessica bit w/ Hugh was planned - her quips about her dress falling and cbs being the very network were too good - maybe she's quick on her feet though. It was cute though. I just saw The Boy from Oz on Saturday night (LOVED IT) so I wasn't surprised that he was talking to the audience in the same way that Peter Allen did.

According to reports from the Tony Rehearsal, yes, SJP knew he was going to call on her. I'm not sure if she knew she was going to be pulled up on stage, etc. but she knew Hugh was going to do his Peter Allen "routine" with her.

Her guest was Michael Casey (not sure who that is). It was listed on another photo site, Retna.

Michael Casey is a fashion designer. Though I guess it could be another Micheal Casey but it seems to make sense for the event.
