I agree that Bernadette is at a point in her career that she chooses her projects very carefully but I don't think she would just turn down something because it is off Broadway. Off Broadway does not mean bad it just means smaller. Literally it is a theater with under 500 seats. Lots of big stars are doing shows off Broadway because the particular show works better in a more intimate setting. Bernadette sits on the Board of Directors of MTC which produces shows off Broadway (which sometimes transfer to Broadway but sometimes not) and she has been a part of one of MTC's productions. I believe she makes her decisions based on the quality of the material and what challenges it will present for her. After all she did Kipp Marcus's movie, Let It Snow, which was a very low budget, independent film from an essentially unknown screenwriter. The only way he got it to her is because he knew someone who knew her fax number and he faxed it to her home instead of presenting it to her agent. She is an artist not an egomaniac or the snob you apparently think she is.

I think that Ms. Peters sings in the style of Bernadette Peters and no one else! Whether she could conceivably sing in someone else's style really isn't the issue--she has said, repeatedly, that "you've got to be original..." As to whether she would perform in an off-Broadway show (written by an unknown) -- well I doubt it. She is a very big star, at least in the theatre world. Don't mean to be discouraging but you sound as if you aren't familiar with Peters work or her career.

Hi'ya B.p.fANS,DO YOU think BERNADETTE can sing in the style of Judy Garland? I have written a play based on the life of J.G. called "BORN TO SING". It has had performances locally and one performance at the Judith Anderson Theatre off Broadway. Friends in the business say B.P. can do it.What do you guys think? I REALLY DON'T KNOW. Not that I have any notion that Bernadette would ever do it, but I would like to know what you fans think. By the way,I think I might be in the wrong section with this message-Oh! well, too late now.Try to answer anyhow. Love ya! Nick Rnbo92@prodigy.net
