Anyone planning on seeing Light in the Piazza in December? I don't have my tickets yet, but I'm planning on seeing it.

I'm seeing in Des Moines in January. It's my all-time favorite show.

I'll see it in St Louis in Feb. Not my all-time favorite, but probably my favorite musical of the last couple of decades. I think it ranks up there with the best ever. It has that inevitability of a classic.

I'm looking forward to it. I'm also planning on seeing She Loves Me at Arena, amd I am so excited. I have been wanting to see a production of this show for about 10 years. I love the score-have never seen a production.

I've seen it. Unlike many flop musicals that leave a great cast album but never work on stage, She Loves Me plays beautifully. Sooo charming. Is there any other semi-obscure musical that's so (deservedly) beloved?

LOL! I meant by more than a tiny coterie of initiates.

The key word is semi-obscure--not deeply obscure.

Okay, okay so Prettybelle is deeply obscure - I cannot live without it. For best semi-obscure I pick The Apple Tree starring Barbara Harris - she is sublime! Of course this little show won't be so obscure now that Cheno is taking it on. I would love to see "She Loves Me" - there's another wonderful original Barbara as in Barbara Cook. "Will He Like Me" is one of the best songs ever written. I would love to hear Bernadette sing that one. Audra sang it at her Lincoln Center evening a few weeks ago and was so wonderful - she quipped that she didn't want to sing it because Barbara Cook had debuted it so beautifully.

Yes indeed. Chip and I were fortunate enough to see them together at the Met (Audra only two songs) and oh my. They compliment each other so, so well.
