If you're interested and you get TCM (Turner Classic Movies), The Light in the Piazza movie will be shown on May 8 (next Sunday, which is Mother's Day)at 2:15 PM Eastern Standard Time.

Bump for a reminder. Anyone planning on watching this-or anyone familiar with the movie?

I'm planning on watching it out of curiosity...plus I happen to like Olivia DeHaviland.

Thanks for the reminder--I'll be out for most of the day (and will post about the magical, I hope, Cook concert) but I will certainly tape this. I saw it when it first came out but remember nothing.

So who watched this? I liked it but missed hearing the emotions in song. I also think the movie didn't portray the loveless marriage as strongly as the current play does.

Probably because in the time the movie was made loveless marriages were something that people didn't talk about and often lived through because the woman didn't have a lot of choices.

Sister Rose, I tried watching it but got interested in other things. I was just not that interested-however, I do know the entire story now, so maybe that had something to do with it. I don't know.
