I recently saw Follies during my first trip to NYC. The show was incredible and Bernadette was amazing! I've seen her in movies and in the Into the Woods and Sunday in the Park with George DVDs, but there is nothing like seeing her on stage, in person.
I waited around the stage door after the performance, and she very kindly signed my Playbill. She is so generous to her fans and I was so excited to meet her!

Registered: 11/8/2011 | posted: 1/21/2012 at 11:56:34 AM ET I have yet to actually have any luck meeting her, but I did get to see her up close last night anyway. She is very generous. It was cold and she was so patient while somebody was having problems with their camera. In what I've seen, if not for Patty and whoever else is there with her, she would stand out there all night letting people take photos. There was a young-ish guy holding the car door who actually seemed to be getting annoyed with her, and you could hear him saying, "Come on, come on, get in, that's enough, just get in." and Patty started really leading her firmly into the car.
You know how some celebs, even though they are nice to their fans, sometimes have that glimmer or annoyance or impatience cross their faces for a moment? Nope. I saw her and she is genuinely pleased that people like her enough to stand out in the cold, and she is happy to sign for them and take photos, etc. And she's very quiet and I'm sure it's a little overwhelming, but when people would say things to her she would acknowledge them and smile, say something nice in response, etc.
