Am I the only one who is obsessed with the song " Tonite you belong to Me" in the Jerk? I think its just a great song. Bernadette and Steve Martin do it so well!

I haven't seen The Jerk, but Stacey (the Q&A girl lol) sent me 2 songs from The Jerk and I loved both of them!!

OH, Christa, you've GOT to rent The Jerk. It's downright hilarious and BP has some great comedic moments in it. The scene with the song is hilarious too when Navin tries to kiss Marie and they struggle because she doesn't want to kiss him. LOL it's hilarious!!

Before I'd even heard of Bernadette Peters, my sisters flatmate and best friend Lisa used to sing this song with her boyfriend. My sister, Liz, thought it was such a sweet little song that she taught me the whole thing whilst stuck in a traffic jam on the M25. the first fiom I actually bought with bernadette in was the jerk and me and liz watched and just start yelling, "theres the song, there's the song!"
Also, me and my friend sang it in a talent assembly at school. So in a word YES! I AM OBSESSED WITH IT!!!

I'm certainly not obsessed with the song, but I did take Bernadette's and Steve's version and dubbed it into a video I made for my film editing class.  The video I made was in a festival and the parts where I did use scenes from the jerk (I used 3 scenes plus the song...but the song was over scenes from other fims) were clearly the most liked by the audience.

Speaking of the Jerk, its supposed to be on Encore Sunday 9/21 @ 6:15 pm and Thursday 9/25 @ 9:35 pm

I almost bought "The Jerk" on DVD today, but I didn't because I do have it on VHS and I want to see if they'll end up re-releasing The Jerk in a package when/if Pennies From Heaven is released on DVD. Then I almost bought Pink Cadillac (which I think came out today); but I think I'll wait a little while on that.
lol I ended up buying Kristin Chenoweth's cd "Let Yourself Go" instead of a DVD.
