Supposedly a Gypsy Commercial played this morning on Channel 2 and 7 in NYC. I didn't see it but heard about it on Talkin Broadway. Just though some of you might be interested.

I saw it this morning on channel 11 WB which is a nyc station too. I also saw it on CBS! I was so excited it was the first thing I was when I turned the tv on! They did a very nice job on the commercial don't want to say info on it if you all want to be surprised. I think that it is taking the place of the Man of La Mancha commericals because I would always see them and hear Brian Stokes Mitchell singing impossible dream lol.

I saw the commercial this morning. It was well done but I don't normally like those Broadway show commercials. They just don't seem to come off well in my opinion. Though if they had to do one for Gypsy, this one is fine. And I do believe it is John Dossett doing the voice over much like James Naughton used to do the Chicago commercial.

I don't want to sound annoying asking all these questions, but I really want to see this commercial! What's the best channel to be watching (NBC, ABC, CBS ??) and someone said around 8:30 to 9 right? Anyone know if the commercial is on at night?

I don't see too many of the Broadway commercials on at night but I don't watch a ton of TV. I have always seen a commercial of some show on just before Regis and Kelly when I have watched it on days when Bernadette was a guest. And sure enough this morning I turned on the TV at 8:45 and started to record and within about 20 seconds the Gypsy commercial came on. Hope that helps.

I actually taped ABC from 8 to 10 this morning just to see if I could catch the commercial without watching TV for two hours..sure enough it was there. I have to say that I don't think they did a very good job. They flashed scenes from the show too quickly. It would have been nice to see short segments of maybe "Together" and "Everything's Coming Up Roses". While Rose's Turn is my favorite song, I just think they should have showed more. But I know how short on time those commercials are.

Megan, I find all the Broadway commercials are like that which is precisely why I don't really like them. They just don't do the shows justice. I guess it is a time constraint problem.

It seems like over the last year or so the Broadway commercials have gotten worse and worse. I don't remember the Annie Get Your Gun commercial being too terrible. I still haven't seen the Gypsy one.
But speaking of commercials...anyone see the new Gap commercial with Madonna and Missy Elliot? The one they show on local stations is pretty bad, but the entire one they show on the music stations is good.
Too bad Bernadette hasn't done a commercial for a product in a while. I guess the last one she did was like a year or 2 ago for Biography on A&E.
LOL Also, I know I'm rambling, I saw Liza on Entertainment Tonight this evening and she's all ready to do the Mac commercials...and they mentioned the false eyelashes! A few of you may remember the discussion on this board about Liza being a spokeswoman for Mac and people wanting her eyelashes.
