I agree with Bwaylover on this one. Gypsy is pretty well known. However, Anon has a point (especially since I would feel the same way, sorta, given that I hadn't seen any versions of this musical until last year, when I rented the Bette Midler version.)

Usually (in my experience) this kind of thing can be solved if a poster just puts the word "Spoiler" in the post, and then skips a bunch of spaces before they talk about the plot. It's just something you do out of respect to those who may not be familiar with the plot or the ending, etc.

Anyway.... I am very excited about this album!!! I'm not very experienced with Gypsy (and very unfamiliar with past albums) but this one looks to be spectacular. I always love it when they include dialogue on the cast album. It makes the songs seem much more immediate for me.

However, I stand by my initial response to the cover art: I miss the black background. :-(

Sorry if you thought I spoiled anyting ofr you. But knowing thi slittle tidbit or anything about the story for that matter does not ruin any of the theatrical genious or magic of this wonderful musical. And OBVIOUISLY aspects of the show will be discussed in a Bernadette Peters forum.

Sorry,Anonymous. I disagree. It's one thing if we're talking about an ER episode or an awards show that has aired on the East Coast but delayed on the West Coast. In that case, posters should preface their posts with a spoiler alert. Once we're talking about something older than that-much less a show that's as old as Gypsy-spoiler alerts are not necessary. I've been on newsgroups for a long time, and this has always been the case. It is considered thoughtful if spoiler alerts are placed in posts related to Bounce (although most people who don't want to know about the details avoid such posts),and quite a few do so on the All That Chat board. But once a show has been out for a long time,it's up to the individual to avoid such posts. This is not chip's fault.
