I just watched an old Andy Hardy movie and the girl who starred with him (besides Judy Garland) was named Patricia Dane. This film was made in 1941. Anyway..... this Patricia Dane looked SO MUCH like Bernadette Peters I was SURE it must be her mother! Have found out it wasn't- just wondering if anyone would know if Patricia Dane was an Aunt, or other relative? The look, the mouth, the mannerisms, everything. Well I would guess probably not. It seems Bernadette's mother got her daughter into show business because she herself was not allowed to be an actress because HER mother (BP's grandmother) didn't feel it was a proper job for a lady (she was from the old country). So I would doubt that an aunt (another daughter of the grandmother) would have been allowed to do it.

Actually Bernadette's sister, Donna, was performing before Bernadette was...she just chose a different path and decided to work behind the scenes instead ( she is a casting director in NY).
