Oops i just realised...it's doctorate of Humane Letters, is it an award of recognition for people who have contributed to society with overwhelming talents and academic excellence? who are recognized for making society more humane....I don't know, is that right? so she never actually went to university?

Isn't it "humane" because it's in the area of the humanities-as opposed to the sciences or professional studies?

Thanks, Karen, I'm sure you're right. Speaking of Wikipedia, this is a really interesting, and, I suppose, accurate description of the "honorary degree":

stasme: you're more than welcome, I like answering these questions, it's a bit like doing a crossword puzzle.

Bernadette is 5'2". That, however, is not me in my avatar. It's Mary Tyler Moore with Bernadette and doggy friend at Broadway Barks 6 (in 2004). I'd guess Mary is about 5'6" or so.

(I think Bernadette would correctly be described as "petite", but seems to me to be about 6 or 7 feet tall on stage--why is that?)

I think MTM is more 5'7" or 5'8" and I have my doubts that Bernadette is really 5'2".

No Bernadette really is 5'2. I'm 5'2 and everytime she takes a pic with me we're the same height.

Mary's always looked very tall to me. On her show she always seemed to tower over everyone, and I don't think she was wearing super-high heels. I would guess at least 5'8" or 5'9."

I agree about Bernadette. She's probably 5'0" or 5'1" at most.

Yes, Rose but what kind of heels was she wearing and what kind were you wearing?

Since Bernadette chooses to say she's 5'2", that is enough for me.

What matter anyway? **

LOL Yes, Jean. You are right. It doesn't matter. Of course I also think you are right that it is her "choice" to say she is 5'2". Only her doctor knows for sure.

Every time I see Bernadette I feel like I could just fold her up and put her in my pocket.

They were the same height but you're right it's whatever Bernadette chooses to say that matters.

Bernadette is petite, and sorry for being a bit naive, i live all the way in Western Australia, so i am not very familiar at all with American Broadway people... haha
Hey Rose... is that you or Kate Winslet in that avatar picture? because if it is you, you look a lot like Kate Winslet (which is a compliment)
Plus it could be Kate Winslet... because your name says Rose lol
Sorry... so who is it?

Ooh and P.S... i find it soooo cool that a gorgeous, talented celebrity is quite short. I know there are a couple of shorties out there in showbusiness, but not many. I am always teased by my tall model-esque friends for being petite (I am 5'3"), my only excuse is the fact that i am a dancer, and they are often short.
GOOOOOOO the shorties! And another good thing is that Bernadette looks so healthy and has obviously gracefully aged. She isn't some anorexic, druggie trying to fit in.
