We're gonna meet Karen's sister. I just heard that Bernadette Peters has signed on to play the part, and I'm also told that Josh Lucas is making an appearance as himself in that same episode.

Isn't this the last season of Will & Grace? I wouldn't imagine they would be taping many more episodes. If you get anymore information, please post!

Catching up with Richard Jay-Alexander, at a preview of A Safe Harbor for Elizabeth Bishop (which he's directing), starring Amy Irving, I learned that he was excited for Bernadette Peters who red-eyed out to the West Coast this weekend to film a guest-star spot on the next-to-last episode of the hit NBC show Will & Grace. Peters is said to be playing Karen's (Megan Mullally) sister on the show in what's sure to be a historical television appearance.

I read that Thursday, May 18 2006 is the series finale...so that would put BP's performance on Thursday, May 11th (I'm guessing.)

I have often thought Bernadette would be a riot on this show, though I assumed she would appear as herself. Jack does have a clipping of her hair in his Broadway Diva wig. But this is very exciting. I wonder if they'll bring Suzanne Pleshette back as their mother.
I wonder if they'll sing something! That would be incredible.

Very cool news. Thank you for sharing. Now PLEASE, someone post a reminder when the episode is close to airing? Could we make a sticky post?
I am really looking forward to her scenes with Megan Mullally. This should be quite good (I'm hoping! I've fallen out of watching the show.).

that is sooooooo exciting. I wonder if she'll be as mercenary (sp?!) and bitchy as Karen of if she'll be the polar opposite. Either way it's gonna be funny. It's perfect, Bernadette has a kinda squeaky voice too!
But hold on a sec - if jack has already mentioned her on the show as herself surely it'll be weird that Karen's sister is the spitting image of her! HA! They've done that on friends so many times. Like the one where they make a list of celebs who they'd be allowed to sleep with and they mention Susan Sarandon and Elle Macpherson both of whom have guest starred as totally different people!

I really don't care much what she does, I'm just delighted that she is feeling up to working.
Since I'll be on a trip, I've already set my VCR...no not really, but, Jenn, you know there will be multo posts on this before show-time.

GraceAnne here, my friend who lives in LA just told me she went to the taping last night of Will and Grace that Bernadette guest-stars in. She said Bernadette looked great and was very funny on the show. She does indeed play Karen's sister. No singing though!
Can't wait to see it!

GraceAnne, I am VERY jealous of your friend. I can't wait for May 11th now. Unfortunately I have to work late that night but my DVD recorder will be set and I'll come home and watch it right away.
