Now I think he may be (1) in complete denial (2) living in a very unhealthy fantasy world.
Either way, I feel sorry for the people of Odessa-Midland--who knows if they will ever see quality theater.

I feel bad for the patron who said that his money wouldn't be refunded for a few weeks. Unfortunately, his comment about bankruptcy may turn out to be true.
This guy really seems "not all there" and appears to be taking no blame and/or responsibility for any of it. In fact, it appears as though he is putting the "pressure" back on the original performers to make good on a deal that apparently never happened (except in his own head.) That's just not right.
I, too, feel bad for the people who were so excited about what could have been a great season of theater in their hometown.

Maybe if he sends Maria flowers she'll come to Odessa...

From: Bradenton/Sarasota, FLA | posted: 7/19/2005 at 9:36:54 AM ET Sounds like a real huckster -- like the guy I hired to put a new roof on my house last year and who didn't show and didn't show, and had my money.
The Bushies will probably hire him...
(sorry, but couldn't resist the political comment since he's in Texas and Midland is involved too.)

Registered: 5/3/2002 | posted: 7/19/2005 at 1:34:05 PM ET After reading the latest news story, my question is, if Ector Theatricals is a non-profit isn't Georges required by law to provide a public accounting statement of his revenues and expenditures? He makes it sound as though it's purely optional and based on whether he feels "comfortable" doing so. That can't be correct.
I see that the bounced checks are already being turned over to the district attorney.
