I notice that tickets for Gypsy are now on sale through 6/26/04; I think this is a good thing!

Is that technically a good thing? Yes, it is great, because "us fan's" of Bernadette and Gypsy can now buy more tickets at a lower price (selected sections)...but I don't think
I have seen a show offer a discount for that long a period of time. To me, and this is my humble opinion, if ticket's are being sold at a lower price (a good thing for ticket buyers)...then the show must need to draw alot more peeople into the theatre...offering a discount from now until June .
Anyway, just rambling on....

BTW-For those who recieved a discount flyer for GYPSY in the mail...I love the advertisement...the picture of Bernadette and the cast is great!!!! I think I may have to frame it....

Does this mean that they are selling tickets with Bernadette as Rose for that long? Or is this a general Gypsy thing?

Bernadette has not extended her contract so any tickets purchased after her contract end date could possibly be with someone else as Rose. Though Bernadette has also NOT said she is leaving at the end of her current contract. Bottom Line: It's still up in the air.

No. I just mean that no official announcement has been made whether she has decided to extend or leave after the year is over. It is not uncommon to sell tickets beyond your star's contract because you are either anticipating she will renew or anticipating you will get a replacement and the show will remain open. I just didn't want anyone to think that just because they are selling tickets into June that Bernadette will still be in it. It's still quite early for her to make up her mind about whether she will extend. I mean, maybe SHE knows but I wouldn't be suprised if we have to wait a couple more months before it is announced.
Believe me if Bernadette does decide to extend you won't have to know someone in the show to know about the extension. It will be in the press, all over the internet, etc.

PA Fan, I think someone on this board posted once that her contract was up around April 12th, I think. Or it was something like that.
I've seen the announcement of a star renewing several weeks before the contract was up and I've seen some that were announced just a couple of weeks before the contract expired. Hopefully we all won't have to suffer that close to the deadline.

I would be VERY suprised if she did not extend (if she has not already, which I believe to be likely) beyond April. I feel confident that she will be in the show until at least the end of June. It might be interesting to note that John Dossett recently turned down ASSASSINS because he opted to extend his GYPSY contract until Labor Day.

I want you all to know that one of my friends actually works tech for the show, and he told me that they expect bernadette to renew her contract thru september. This way she and Dossett will have a similar contract, and most likely depart after that. Tammy Blanchard might also consider the same.
