Today "Annie Get your Gun" is opening on Broadway...oh I hope it's
ahit! I read that ticket sells are HUGE for this show and they are
going fast! I also hope the show got its kinks fixed and I pray the
mean critics aren't harsh on Bernadette...not that they would have a
reason to be! Anyone going tonight? -Eric

I know people going to the show! Or did you mean people that would be in
the audience? :) I talked to Cassidy (Ladden - she plays Jessie Oakley)
this morning on the phone before she headed off to school (the kids STILL
had to go to school today!). She said the entire cast is really excited,
and the audience response has been wonderful thus far. Her parents are
both going to the show, I think, and I'd ask them how it went.. but..
welll... they ARE slightly biased :)

I don't think the critics will be TOO harsh on Bernadette.. from most of
the reviews I read, the critics love Bernadette, but have problems with
other aspects of the show! :( There is more to the show that is wonderful
than Bernadette, although she, too, must be *fabulous.* And Arlene
(Cassidy's mom) mentioned that the show has changed substantially since the
very first performance in D.C.

I told my little sister this afternoon that I had talked to Cassidy this
morning (I had a half-day) because tonight is opening night on Broadway,
and she said, "are you going to the show?" "I WISH." "No, I meant are you
going to the show *ever*?" (she's adorable.. she turned 8 years old 2 days
ago) "Well, I'm hoping I will..." "Will you take me? Pleeeeeeeaase??"
"*smiles* Oh, I don't know..." "You told me Bernadette is going to be in
it! She's really good. I saw her in concert." "Excuse me, Caroline? Oh,
you mean my Hey, Mr. Producer video?" "No. I saw her on the Disney
Channel! The Young Performers Concert. She was... a host!" How cute is
that? The main reason she remembers Bernadette is from that Young
Performers Concert, although I have had her watch Hey, Mr. Producer and
Annie before... :)

Anyway, best of luck to the cast tonight! (I'd wish them all "broken
legs," but that just sounds... wronnnng) The performance is sure to be
WONDERFUL!!
