Okay, I have a stupid queston: what is bernadette singing at teh very
end of "Pearl's A Singer"? I believe it's something along the lines of
: "I'm like Pearl" or something but I'm not sure...I guess I could
check the lyric sheet (DUH...I just thought of that). Now the question
is even stupider but I'm posting anyway. -Eric

I've got a question about one of her albums. What's the deal with the line
"There is a rose on Spanish islands..." at the end of Cupid. Did she sing
that song and then decide to cut it, or what?

I have no clue...I wondered about that too...because it really
doesn't seem to have any relevance to the song. -Eric

The last words of that song are "in a nightclub."

Sorry, I should have referenced the first question. The last words of
"Pearl's a Singer" are "in a nightclub." It's on the Bernadette album. Quite
a wonderful recording I might add. I bought the two original vinyl recordings
in the early 80s and have played them to death. I was glad to see the
compilation on cd.

the original 'cupid' was sang by men...the end of the song 'there is a rose in
spanish harlem' is referring to the love the guys sing about throughout the
song...
