Okay, I figured we could use a new topic around here...so here ya go.
I happen to be listening to "I'll Be Your Baby Tonight" at the moment
so that's where I got this thread from lol. I'd like to know what
everyone's favorite TRACK (yes you can only pick one) off this album
is...and your least fav, for whatever reason-which doesn't mean the
song is bad, just that it's not one of your favs. :)
My favorite would have to be "He's Got A Way" and my least fave
"Some Other Time"...I just don't think such a slow dragging song
should've closed out such a great GRAMMY WORTHY! album. -eric

I don't really like that album at all. I like "Sondheim, Etc." better.
I think Cupid is my favorite track...I will say No One is Alone for my
least favorite because I think she sings that song way way too much (even
though it's a good song).

Hmm, my favorite would have to be "Running on Faith" and my least favorite
would have to be "Woman Be Wise". I actually love them all, except I kinda
don't like "Woman Be Wise" or "I'll Be Your Baby Tonight". Oh, I went out to
pizza the other night and they were playing in the resturant that second song
on the album that starts off "I got big red lips I got big brown eyes. . ."
Can't remember the name. But then after that they started talking about how
that was Bernadette Peters and how she was making her return to broadway in
the revival of AGYG. Pretty cool, huh?

I'm not too crazy over this recording. I think the best tracks are the show
tunes (stick to what you're good at, ya know what I mean?). I understand why
she would want to do pop tunes, but I just don't think they suit her. I'm
looking at the album right now and none of the cuts thrill me, but if I had to
pick a favorite, I would have say "Some Other Time" is my favorite - I'd take
Bernstein, Comden & Green over Billy Joel any day.

Actually the Billy Joel song is "He's got a way" not "some other
time". I really like this album though. -eric

I know. That's my point -- I prefer "Some Other Time" (written by Leonard
Bernstein) to "He's Got a Way" (by Billy Joel).

I love Cupid. I remember I listened to that song for seven hours straight
when I was vacationing with my family one summer. I'm such a loser.

The song I don't like (which isn't on I'll Be Your Baby Tonight) is Broadway
Baby, and she sings that aaaaaaaall the time! I'm sure it's some giant
cardinal sin of BP fandom not to like that song, but what can you do?

I like BLACKBIRD. Her solo without music in the beginning is something I
always blast for the first like, 10 seconds of the song.
I'm not too crazy about the third song, I KEEP RUNNIN ON FAITH. I think it's
too long.

I want Mack and Mabel! I can only find the London Cast, and when I did
find the original once I didn't have any money with me! I do have a
midi of "Look what happened to Mabel." It's pretty cool.

Yeah, I'm responding late too... sorry... LOL... Well, I love Blackbird
and Cupid... but I have to admit when I first got the album I basically
hated it... didn't listen to it for like half a year, and then I took it
back out, and discovered that it was pretty cool. I don't really like I
Feel LIke I'm Not Out Of Bed Yet.... kindof a boring song in my
opinion...

I was the exact opposite. I bought the album the second day it came
out but it was a coincidence because I didn't know much about
Bernadette...in fact I didn't even know she made studio albums and I
just happened to find it and I WORE that CD OUT! ;) -Eric

Have you tried Barnes & Noble or Media Play? They might even have it at
Sam Goody's or maybe some other music stores... I found my copy of it at
Barnes & Noble
