Hi everyone!

I was in NYC today and saw "Chicago" (starring Bebe Neuwirth who's back for a
week and Karen Ziemba... they're both AMAZING together). Afterwards I was
walking around and passed by the Marquis theatre and saw the numerous signs
for "AGYG"... I was so excited!

ANYWHO, I was just wondering what merchandise has been sold at "AGYG" in
Washington D.C?

Here is my (Noelle) review. Enjoy it! It's kinda long.

This night could not have gone much better! Okay, first, we left the house at
4:30 because we went to an open house at my naeighbor's. That was a lovely
dinner with lovely people. I even found someone who I could talk Bernadette
with there, and she had seen Bernadette do the "Once Upon A Mattress" on the
Carol Burnett Show. Everyone told me to have a wonderful time at the show, and
that I did!
So, after that we left and got there around 7:15, and we actually got to park
in the parking garage next to the theater. We didn't have to walk in the cold.
That was nice. We got into the theater and I wanted to find out where the
stage door was before the show, so we went a looked for it, according to my
directions that my friend had given me. No such luck. My mom went to get some
champaign (yes, they serve that there) and she asked the guy and he told us.
We found it! WAHOO!
Then, when the ushers opened the door to the theater, I HAD to go in. So, we
went in and we found our seats. (Not the best, but we could really see
everything well) I waited anxiously. I was so excited and I was SOOOOOOO
nervous. Then, I noticed that people around me were only reading Ms. Peters
bio. (Which Lanaya noticed that she hadn't changed about the Dainty June
thing, but I'll explain that part later. ) Then, I was skimming the cast list
and one of the names stuck out. Mia Walker. She played Neliie. I looked at her
picture and thought that it might be her. I had gone to camp with Mia, and she
was just the sweetest person and was a wonderful dancer, for only being ten. I
didn't get a chance to read her bio, though.
Okay, the first act. . . I was nervous as anything waiting for her to come
onstage. Well, when she FINALLY came on, everyone clapped. She doesn't say
anything for a while, and I just wanted her to. Then when she finally did, I
think I started to relax. I didn't mind the accent at all. in fact, I thought
it was quite cute and it went wonderfully with her character. Some memoriable
lines were. "You see that roosters head? (She then shot at the bird behind her
back) Now you don't."
Frank said "Well, people are bound to miss a shot once in a while." (or
something like that) and Bernadette said "i can't." to which everyone laughed
and clapped. Another one was during the song "Anything You Can Do" and Frank
and Annie were competing for who could sing the highest note. (Bernadette, of
course won) Frank says "How do you hit notes that high?" Annie says "I'm a
girl!"
Oh, she was cute in this role. There were so many funny moments. It was light
hearted and the dancing was EXCELLENT! One guy in particulair who played I
think his name was Tommy and he played an Indian, that was half Irish and half
Native American, and he was in love with Winnie and later on married her.
Intermission. . . I got a chance to look at Mia's bio and it said "Ballibay
Summer Theater". I nearly flipped out! (Ballibay was the camp we both went
to.) I went "Mom! That's Mia!" I nearly fell over backwards.
Act two. . .I cried. Bernadette reached everyone one of us and everytime she
said "Papa Bull" I melted. It was so sweet. It wasn't very serious, but that
made the evening even more enjoyable. Then, when the bows came, I got nervous
again.
We went out by the stage door to wait. My mom kept telling me to go up. As I
did, guess who came out of the door. (No, not Bernadette) But, my online
sister, Lanaya! She recognized the book, cause I don't think she had a picture
of me anywhere, but she recognized the book. I didn't know who she was. She
said "Noelle?" I looked at her kinda strange, cause I didn't know who she was
then. Then she asked again. "Noelle?" Then she told me she was Lanaya from
online. We hugged each other. It was great! I really couldn't believe all that
was happening by this point. Lanaya's mother was also very nice and then our
mothers talked while Lanaya and I did. She told me that she had gone to the
matinee and that Bernadette doesn't come out during matinees, so she had come
back to get an autograph. Then, some of the cast members came out, but they
rushed by us, and they were ensemble members, i think. Anyway, then I saw Mia
and she knew exactly who I was and even seemed surprised to see me. She came
to me and I hugged her. I told her the story of how I figured out it was her
and had her sign my program. My mom got pictures of the kids, and the
understudy kid. They were all very sweet. I also met Cassidy, and she was
really nice, too. The woman who played Winnie and Dolly came out and signed or
programs and then one of them, can't rememberwhich one, said that it meant a
lot to her that people were liking the show. Tom Wopat came out next, with his
cowboy hat on! He signed Lanaya's poster and had a hard time writting it! It
was funny. Then he signed mine and mom wanted to get a picture, and I was like
"Mom!" (kind of embarrased) Mr. Wopat teased me about that (joking around with
me) and willingly took a picture. He was cool.
Lanaya and I continued to talk and every time the door opened we looked,
hoping it was Bernadette. Then a security guard came out, looked at the people
and shut the door again. We knew she was coming out!
Then, finally, she came. She was wearing a black coat, and a black hat on. You
really couldn't see her all too well, unless you got close and looked at her
face, but of course, we ALL knew it was her. I even heard Lanaya saying
quietly "Oh, my God."
She signed Lanaya's first, and also had a hard time saying it. It was cute. My
mother distracted Bernadette for a sec by saying that they were born at the
same time. Bernadette said "Feburary 28th?" Mom said "No, 1948." I don't think
Ms. Peters liked that being revealed, but she didn't say anything. Then, I got
mine signed, and I wanted to explain the book quickly, because I noticed she
was tired. So, I gave her my program and explained the book very quckly and
she said "Oh, that's sweet. Thank you." And she smiled. Oh, she knows how to
make you feel so relaxed, and when you look into her eyes, you're looking into
sweetness itself. (I know that sounds crazy, but that's what I felt.) I gave
her the book, and she asked what my name was, and had a hard time spelling it.
I told her how to spell it and she said "N-O-E?" I then spelled the rest for
her. I can't really read her handwritting, but I think it says "To Noelle.
Love Bernadette Peters. " She then tried to get through the crowd, and trying
to sign everyone's things. She was very gracious and even took some more
pictures with people, but finally had to leave, because you could tell she was
exhausted. Lanaya and I talked a little more. We were going to faint!!!!! My
mom then took some more pictures with Lanaya and I. Lanaya then had to leave,
and so we went home. Oh, it was wonderful! I couldn't have asked for a better
evening.
