I'll admit I've heard maybe two songs from Follies and haven't seen it-yet
(I'm gonna see it when it's revived, yay me! :) and I should be getting the
CD for Christmas) So I'm wondering who said this:

"If you don't kiss me, Ben, I think I'm gonna die."

And what character she is. Cause it sounded like something Foxy Sondheim
would say, a guilt-inducing threat of sorts, but I don't know the context
it's coming from or anything. I found a Stephen Sondheim quote archive
which is helping me a ton but I need to know the song titles too. Since I
didn't really have any interest in Merrily We Roll Along, or have gotten to
see Gypsy yet (Livs is Sondheim deprived!) can anyone tell me the names of
these songs?

"Some people sit on their butts.
Got the dream, yeah, but no the guts!
That's living for some people,
For some humdrum people, I suppose!
Well they can stay and rot!
But not Rose!"
-Gypsy

"Some roads are soft, and some are bumpy-
Some roads you really fly.
Some rides are rough and leave you jumpy,
why make it tough by getting grumpy?
Plenty of roads to try..."
- Merrily We Roll Along

"Success is like failure -
It's how you perceive it
It's what you do with it
Not how you achieve it"
- Merrily We Roll Along

"She sits at the Ritz with her splits of Mumm's
And starts to pine for a stein with her village chums
But with a Schlitz in her mitts down at Fitzroy's bar
She thinks of the Ritz.
Oh, it's so schizo."
-Follies(cut)

"Now you know
Life is crummy
Well, now you know.
O.K. Big surprise
People love you and tell you lies
Bricks can fall out of a clear blue sky
Put your dimple down, now you know!"
-Merrily We Roll Along

And for the life of me I can't remember what song this is from! Bah.
"Stop worrying if your vision is new.
Let others make that decision,
They usually do,
You keep moving on.
I chose and my world was shaken,
So what?
The choice may have been mistaken
The choosing was not,
You have to move on ...
Anything you do,
Let it come from you,
Then it will be new.
Give us more to see."
-Sunday In The Park With George

Thanks!

Merrily We Roll Along, one of the transitions, I think
