See headers | OMG!! My theatre teacher told the BEST joke today!!! You will all
appreciate it... it has to do with Sondheim.
Ok... Andrew lloyd webber dies... (that isn't the joke so quit laughing!)
and goes to heaven and he goes up to Saint Peter and says, "Is Sondheim in
there?" and St. Peter says.... "I don't believe so... Let me Check" So he
checks his little book and then he says, "Nope. No Sondheims here" And ALW
says are you SURE???" So Saint Peter checks again and asks all of the
angles and the all agree that there's no Stephen Sondheim in heaven.
Next ALW says, "Swell!!!" and he enters through those pearly gates. Saint
Peter asks ALW if he would like to check out his new house but ALW says that
he wants to check the music store so he could hear all of his music
perfected--since heaven IS perfect. So he goes to the music store expecting
so see all of his cds.... but there are just shelves of Sondheim cds.... not
just his b-way shows either!!! Every time one of his shows was done
(professionally and non professionally) there was a recording made and it is
up there... everytime someone sang his songs... they were recorded in heaven
and put on the shelves. The best sellers there are TODD BRISCOE AND MARLEY
HOGGATT SING UNWORTHY OF YOUR LOVE (:-)) and SONDHEIM PLAYING THE PIANO AT
AGE 5, as well as sounds of him snoring, him yelling at his mother, the
sound of his car etc. etc. so ALW leaves as quickly as possible and goes to
the library (heaven branch) He wanted to rent the libretto to CATS but all
there was were these books on Sondheim, he librettos, his diaries, his
biographies, his scrapbooks EVERYTHING WAS SONDHEIM!!!!!!!! So ALW leaves
and starts down the street when a LARGE, Gold limo appears out of nowhere...
suddenly the window rolls down and there is Stephen Sondheim!!!! ALW freaks
and runs to Saint Peter and says "You lied!!! You said Stephen Sondheim
wasn't here!!!"
--"He isn't", said Saint Peter.......
--"But I saw him!! In the gold limo... it was Stephen Sondheim...!"
--"oh the guy with the beard in the long limo?"
--"Yeah!!!"
--"Oh, that's God."
LOL!!!!!! I hope you appreciated it as much as Jessica Fletcher and I did!!

Lloyd Webber, on the other hand, shares the title with Sondheim and some
others are "gods of the theatre"...

Just a wee bit bitter over the 1998 Tonys ;)
ALW has his good points. His shows aren't Disney cartoons, he makes such
fashion statements in his show as porcelain masks, red leather jackets
(even better on Tony Vincent!), and technicolor dreamcoats that make Kramer
look like a pimp :) (Seinfeld episode....too funny!!!)
Note to all theatre goers- You can all have the Lion King in the comfort of
your living room. Yes, that's right! For 3 dollars, go to any Blockbuster
in the Animated Film section!!! Or for you more mature thespians, rent
Hamlet. Practically the same story line, and Keneth Branagh is MUCH more
enjoyable :)
