Hey!
My name's Livvy and I've been subscribed to the list for a few weeks and now
I find it high time for an introduction :) I'm 14 and I've been addicted to
Ms. Peters since I was 3 and I saw her in Annie, and then the year after
when I saw Into The Woods. I fell in love with her spunk and her astounding
abilities, not to mention her hair :) I pretty much worship the ground
Bernadette Peters walks on, I've seen every movie with her, I just watched
Anastasia with the girl I babysit for, (that movie is so damn cute :)) and
I'm getting the video of her in concert real soon, I saw it on PBS a million
times and never had much intelligence to tape it :)

Hey Livvy! What's up!?? Glad you decided to introduce yourself to us. My
name is Eric (I'm 18) and I'm the list owner. You seem to have discovered
Bernadette the same way a lot of people on this list did ("Annie"-"Into the
Woods"). :-) Anyway, feel free to start a conversation up since we're pretty
quiet lately lol.
ENJOY! ~Eric

Hey Eric :)
In English this year we had to read the Odyssey (i know, i know, you're all
jealous!!) but then she had us watch the miniseries and when I saw
Bernadette as Circe I jumped up and down and was practically
hyperventilating. Tactic #428 on how to get kicked out of English class :)

Ha! I was running an errand for a teacher and had to walk through a Freshman
English class and they were watching THE ODYSSEY too and I happened to walk
through just in time for Bernadette's part hehe, I sat right down and
watched. :-)

Hello Livvy!
Welcome!
I'm 20 and I first saw Bernadette in "Annie" also when I was 2 or 3. I agree
that she definitely sparkles and it seems you can't take your eyes off her
once you see her!! I'm so excited!! In one month and 10 days I will be taking
my lifelong dream vacation to NYC, where I have 2nd row, centerstage seats to
Annie Get Your Gun!! I can't wait!! I know she will be wonderful,
mesmerizing and gorgeous as ever and it will be amazing to see her in person!!
Anyway, nice to "meet" you Livvy and hopefully we will all have lots to talk
about soon!
Jenn

Hello everyone! My name is Catherine. I'm 14 and I have loved
Bernadette since I was like... 7 or 8. I love everything about her!
Especially her hair! If only mine was a little bit curlier -- at
least I've got the color! :) Anyways, I'd love to hear ANYTHING
about Bernadette!

Love,
Catherine

PS If anyone knows the lyrics to Pennies from heaven PLEASE post them
soon! Especially if you know the pig latin -- I just can't figure it
out! Thanx!

The pig-latin is actuallyfrom a song called "The Gold Diggers Song (We're in
the Money)," not "Pennies from Heaven." If you want to see the original
source, check out the film THE GOLD DIGGERS OF 1933. The opening number of
the film is a dress rehersal of "We're in the Money" and about midway through
Ginger Rogers does the whole thing in pig latin. She was just joking around
with the crew between takes doing the song in pig-latin and a producer walked
by, liked what he heard and put it in the movie. Bernadette's version is far
more accurate for the most purist pig-latin speaker, but Ginger's is great
fun, too. I learned how to sing it by listening to Ginger's version years ago
(I'm 20 now, so it was about six years ago or so that I decided I *must*
learn this song). I get big laughs at parties...my one talent :) Imagine my
surprise when I watched BP's concert and heard the pig-latin! I didn't know
anyone else who sang the song that way so I was thrilled to hear a tribute to
my all-time favorite! Woo hoo :)

I had never heard Bernadette do the pig latin thing until I saw her in
concert a few years ago and I died laughing, it was great!

::sniff sniff:: is there something wrong w/that?? :)
I just watched the 1988 Tonys last night (long story), and I was heavily
disappointed when ITW performed and Bernadette wasn't the witch. And the
witch they had was reeeeeeeaaaaalllllyy bad :P
