Ok, I just saw Susan on Regis & Kathie Lee, and all I can say is:
Good lord, what were they thinking??? She can carry a tune ok, but for
BROADWAY... Her voice is community theater quality in my opinion. I am
now even more convinced that Valerie Wright should have filled in the
entire three weeks.

I agree with you. The thing is, though, the 3 weeks Bernadette decided to
take off are some of the biggest tourist weeks of the year, and the
Weissler's knew they needed to replace her with a big name in order to draw
in the crowds. She may not be able to sing, but Lucci was a good choice b/c
well... she's the queen of all daytime television, and the masses love that.
I wish they would have just let Valerie do it, but sadly they really
couldn't......

I agree. She was painful to listen to at times. At that soap star
hairdo looked ridiculous with the cowboy hat. Unless you are a die-hard AMC
fan I can't imagine paying $75 to hear her singing that part.
