Well, Bernadette IS in some of the diva stuff. She did HEY MR. PRIDUCER, not
necessarily diva, but a concert nonetheless, SONDHEIM: A CELEBRATION AT
CARNEGIE HALL, some other concert appearances. I guess you're right. She
hasn't really done very much devoted to just divas. But who cares? She does
plenty of other things that are totally satisfactory. I nkow what you mean
though. I would kill to get her, Madeline Kahn, and Patti Lupone in a concert
together (besides SONDHEIM: A CEL. @ CARN.)

I thought that she would definitely have been asked to do that little diva bit
at the Tony awards if she hadn't been in London.

I heard something about how Rosie had actually planned on having her there for
the diva bit, but she couldn't because she was already doing PRODUCER.

Do you think she's not a diva? If you do why?

If Bernadette had done that diva thing at the Tonys, what song do you
think she would have sung?
I'm torn between Move On and Children Won't Listen(or how ever the
title goes), but maybe it would have been something different.

She's definitely a diva in the context of the special ... one of the grand
dames of Broadway. However, the term diva is often used in a more derogatory
way (and I know lots of those), but Bernadette is definitely not a diva in
that context. I've never met anyone more gracious or more of a "team player."
Ask anyone who has ever worked with her and they will tell you the same thing.

Her new signature pieces seem to be "Being Alive" and "Not a Day Goes By." I
would prefer the latter. Don't stone me for this, but I like Patti Lupone's
version of "Being Alive" better.
