Jones Beach Theatre here in NY that now has concerts used to do only musicals
during the summer and they'd have 1 show a season and one year (probably
around 1980 or 81) they did "AGYG" and my parents saw it. Lucie Arnaz was in
it as Annie Oakley when they saw it. And she was... ahem.... well, not
good... My mom said she was really bad (I think my dad slept through the
show) and that she shouldn't play the part. Ann-Margret's too old (Just my
opinion) and Marie Osmond is.... well... Marie Osmond. She was just in "King
& I" and didn't it close while she was in it???
Honestly, I know that the producers are looking for a "big name" to keep the
show going, but I think they should just put Valerie Wright in. I've heard
nothing but good things about her performance when she had to step in for
Bernadette. And speaking as someone who's understudied for leads and had to
go on at the last minute, it's really a thrill.

See headers | Well I really doubt that Ann-Margret is going to agree
to do it, although she's 58 she's still in great shape
and definatly doesn't look anywhere near 58. BUT
anyway, I also doubt that they will go on the road w/
the Valerie Wright seeing as though she isn't a big
name and it's all about money and a big name. -Eric
