We did this thread a long time ago but we have so
many new members I figured we could stand to do it
again lol.

Question: How did you first become introduced to our
Mrs.Peter? :)

Answer: I saw her on a rerun of The Muppet Show a
long time ago when they had it on Nickelodeon, and I
liked what I saw. A few years later I came across the
"Song and Dance" cast album and bought it because I
remembered liking Bernadette> so for about 1 1/2 years
the "S&D" album collected dust on my Cd shelf (the
only song I listened to was "English Girls") until one
day I decided to listen to it all the way through, and
I fell in love :)

And the Amezy answer is:
I grew up w/ Into the Woods.. kindof... we recorded it off of PBS when I was
1, and watched it for a few years, then, pretty much from age 6-8, we didn't
see it again, and then Katie (my sister) was doing scenery and costumes or
something for the production of ITW that was going on in SUNY Fredonia, so
she was timing costume changes and everything through watching the recording
we had... then Adam kept watching it over and over again, and I continued
with it. Probably the only musical our whole family enjoys.

Luv-
Amy

well i would have to say I first saw Bernadette in Into the Woods when it
aired on PBS awhile ago, i was like in fifth grade so i was what, nine or ten
i beleive. And i didn't know who she was but one little line made me first
love her. It's the scene where they confront the giant, and they drag the
narrator in to the story and he argues that no one will tell the story. And
she files her nails or something to that degree and says "Some of us don't
like the way you've been telling it", I just thought that was so histerical.
And for awhile I forgot about Bernadette, untill I saw her again in that
Cinderella revival thing made for TV. And then i saw in my BMG orderform
booklet the description for ITW soundtrack. So I saw her in it and bought
it, then found out you could get the movie of it and bought it immeaditly.
And let me tell you something about Bernadette that i treasure. The
admiration of her brought me together with my love Becca. We one day met
talking about Bernadette and it turned out we fell in love :-) So I have
Bernadette to thank for that, and that's what I love her the most for doind
:-)

My best friends cousin got her to watch Into the Woods on PBS. She then got
into Bernadette and showed me into the woods. So, I was soon hooked. Of
course I had seen Bernadette earlier in Annie, but Into the Woods kicked of
my love of her and her talents.

I was listening to my friend's Into The Woods cd and was thinking what a
great voice the witch had, so i asked who it was. She told me Bernadette
Peters, and I went and bought a few cds that she was in(I think ITW and Song
and Dance). I realized how amazing she is and soon discovered she was an
great actress, too. Anyway, that's how I was introduced to Bernadette
Peters.

Hey that's me!!!!! So, my cousin made me watch Into the woods. He had to
FORCE me to watch it cause I didn't want to see it at all. But then I watched
it once and I liked it and then I couldn't stop watching it! Then I saw
Bernadette on The Tonight Show and then on TV in David, and I kept on seeing
her everywhere. So I bought some of her CD's and movies and I got hooked.
From that point on I absolutely loved and adored Bernadette and she became my
inspiration to become an actress.

Annie. I used to watch that movie multiple times daily. For 2 years. My
parents must have wanted me dead, lol. But from Annie I saw her in Into the
Woods and loved that. That was when I was 6, and she kinda wasn't a major
part of my life again till I was 14 and saw ITW on Bravo and just became a
bit obsessed and bought every cd I could find and watched all I could and now
I'm the fanatic you see before you :o)

somewhere... perhaps I'll send it later...)

I actually saw ITW BECAUSE of her... it was suggested to me because it was
deemed appropriate for a small child (my grandma took me to a show every year
for my birthday) and when I found out she was in it I insisted that I see
that one. I was just a BIT Annie obsessed, lol

While at the Wallingford Library(which has the best collection of Musicals
on CD out of any library I've ever seen) I saw "The Goodbye Girl" and
noticing that it starred Bernadette Peters, I picked it up, since I
recognized from Animaniacs. That was the summer of 97, and I listened to it
nonstop! It kept getting overdue, and I'd keep renewing it. I was also in
a small production of Annie that summer, and at the beginning of a dress
rehearsal, I would listen to my CD player. But I brought the case without
the CD! So, instead, I sang all the songs myself, reading the words from
the booklet.
I like Martin Short, too.
Then, last summer, I picked up, from the same library, Sunday in the Park
with George because she was in it, and that got me hooked on Sondheim.

1st grade teacher played Lily at a community theatre production of Annie
before the movie actually so I fell in love with the role. So Bernadette
Peters became a fav of mine. Then 2 years ago I bought the Into the Woods
CD and my obsession began...
