I was in the Learning Smith today sitting around looking at children's toys,
and some muffled music was playing that was barely loud enough to hear, but I
caught it! My friend was just sitting right next to me chatting when I
perked up and go "That's bernadette Peters singing!!!" I ran across the
store to the TV set and sure enough there she was singing "Being Alive..."
The clerks thought I was insane but informed me I could buy the video, and as
soon as I have 19.95 I will be the proud owner of a Mr. Producer! video!!!!

Oh MARIE YOU HAVE TO GET IT!!! It is sooo great Bernadette of course is
phenominal, but there's a lot of other good stuff on there too!!!!
Everything from Little shop of horrors to Miss Saigon!! Hey anyone who has
it, who sings "I get a kick out of you"? Not to be mean or anything, but
she's not very good. My highschool drama department did Anything Goes this
past winter, I was the captain :-), and frankly our Reno Sweeny did a better
job than that lady.

I'm going to get it!! It looked so wonderful, and as a plus- there's stuff
besides Bernadette! Not that I'd mind a tape with nothing but her, but I DO
love musicals. It's too bad about that song, I simply adore it- especially
sung proberly..

okay, speaking of Hey Mr. Producer...I have the video and cd, and as far as I
have noticed the onle song from the video that is not on the cd is Ruthie
Henshaw's beutiful I Dreamed A Dream(she's the only other person besides
Alice Ripley that I can hear that song sung by) Did any one else notice this?
sorry for the off topicness, but it's been bugging me, I almost asked Ruthie
Henshaw herself when I saw her in SHubert Alley, but I thought it'd be weird

I didn't care for ruthie in that GOTTA GET A GIMMICK song, i think it should
have been 3 legends, maybe get dame judi in there, she just seemed out of
place, don't like her voice much, either.

I didn't know who Ruthie was when I saw "Gotta Get a

Bernadette)...I loved her voice! -Eric

now i adore judi dench, truly, and her rendition of send in the clowns for me
is the definitive one, but come on... in gimmick? i for one have no
interest in seeing judi dench in no clothing doing ballet...

I think Judi was awesome at Send in the Clowns too! I also agree that she
would not have been my first choice for "Gimmick". HOwever, I'm not
particularly fond of Ruthie (I'm so sorry, I just forgot her last name, but
I'll remember it right AFTER I mail this!) When you saw those two incredable
voiced and funny women, then her, it was, what I think, a big drop!

I actually liked Ruthie a lot... I am becoming a big fan of her work, and I
thought she was a lot of fun to watch, and a GREAT dancer. For the life of
me I can't remember who the third woman was... help?

Julia McKenzie was the 3rd lady in "Ya Gotta Get A Gimmick"
I love all three of them!
