See headers | i was gonna see YAGMCB tonight, but i heard someone say kristin
chenoweth wasn't in it this month!!!!!! i lved her @ the tonys and
she's the reason im going! can some one tell me as soon as you read
this if you know if she's in it for this the closing weekend??????
please help qickly!!!!i have to go in 1/2 an hour!

Unfortunately, the fact that "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" won two Tony
Awards holds no bearing. "YAGMCB" was running at only 40% attendance. Most
shows close at 50% so, "YAGMCB" was really hurting. It hung on until the
Tony's in the hopes that business would pick up if it won awards. It won two
(Best Featured Actor and Actress in a Musical: Roger Bart & Kristen
Chenoweth). However, the shows decide whether to stay or close based on
immediate box office sales. For example, "Peter Pan" starring Cathy Rigby
was supposed to close, but on Monday, the day after the Tony awards, it took
in $100,000. So, it's staying open. After winning 2 Tonys "Annie Get Your
Gun" took in $200,000. "Death of a Salesman" also took in $200,000 on
Monday. "YAGMCB" unfortunately did not receive the same success. It was
already having problems, the investors lost money, and it became too
expensive to keep the show running. I will be attending the final
performance on Sunday which should be special and I will tell you all about
it. I had originally planned to go to the show on July 10th, but it won't be
open then. There are two cast albums out. One is the original 1968 cast.
The other is the 1999 Cast starring Kristen Chenoweth, Anthony Rapp ("RENT"),
and B.D. Wong.
A number of shows are closing soon. They are:

"The Lonesome West"
"Not About Nightengales"
"You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown"
"The Civil War"
Closing Sunday, June 27, 1999
"The Sound Of Music"

I can;t believe how many other people are obsessed with that song as well...I
stood at the listening station at Borders and listened to it twice, though I
didn;t have enough money for it...I can't staaand it!

there is a cast album.... i have yet to purchase it, but i've listened to
it and it's adorable
