Pink Cadillac
1989
This change-of-pace comedy is a misfire for director
Eastwood. He plays a bail-bond bounty hunter who
becomes unlikely partners with the wife of one of his
prey (Bernadette Peters). Peters is a cute and perky
foil for the stoic Clint, but the part does little to
display her fine comic talents. Not as abysmal as some
critics have complained, there are some entertaining
moments in the film -- especiallly when Eastwood is
afforded the chance to masquerade as various
characters. But those hoping for a "make-my-day" Clint
or rock'em-sock'em action would do better to look
elsewhere.

See headers | Just occurred to me: for anyone out there counting similarities between
Bernadette and Madeline Kahn, add the fact that they were both in Clint
Eastwood movies where he poked fun at his tough guy image.
