HI gang! New to list and glad to hear all the TONY hysteria.

You can bet my VCR will be taping, probably two copies, cuz I know I'll
wear it out. "I've Got the Sun" and Bernadette, I CANT WAIT.

Thanks for the list who pays homage to the EXTREMELY ARMED AND TALENTED
Miss Peters, who only person alive who ever sang the hell out of "Being
Alive". The "COMPANY" score is great, the singers are not, but, you
know, Sondheim. . . God, to hear that incredible moment, when she
stopped singing and was talking right to my heart, giving me her
passion, talent, light and love and PAIN, the only one who ever FELT
that song!!!

Best to all,

FORREST

ONLY person? I love Bernadette, but don't forget Patti LuPone, Mandy
Patinkin, Judy Kaye, hell, Dean Jones, they all sang the hell out of it.

I thought Elaine Stritch was cool.

May I just say that Mandy Patinkin does not sing--he falsettos everything!!!
That's not singing. He may be an okay actor, but not at all a singer. And now
I see he's number 1 on the greatest stage performer voting booth--what's that
all about??? Bernadette's only number 6 or 7!!! That's just horrible.
I agree that Ms. Peters as well as Ms. Lupone have "sung the hell out of Being
Alive"--a great song!

Thanks.
Chris

not to be hostile, but you've gotta be kidding me....

he has one of the most beautiful voices i've ever heard, he does not falsetto
everything, and HE HAS ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL VOICES I'VE EVER HEARD!

his musical acting was stronger when he was young, now he's kinda wierd (he
twitches... he's still very effective, but it's just odd)... but i will
listen with my eyes closed :o)

I couldn't agree with you more! Mandy is an amazing actor who has a
beautiful voice. Anyone who's seen "Sunday" would agree. Also, his "Oscar &
Steve" CD is one of my favourites in my collection. He does an amazing
version of "Not A Day Goes By" and "There Won't Be Trumpets." Very different
interpretations than Bernadette's versions but they are amazing.

I didn't l ike Mandy's version of BEING ALIVE. I swear, he barks right in
the middle of the song.
