hi guys!
i was just wonderin' if any of you had gone to the AGYG cd signing at
virgin records on friday? if you did please fill me in on all the
details! what was it about vip passes? did you get to really talk to
berny or did she just sign it? do tell all!
my message box has been mysteriously empty, and i hope to get some of
your creative juices flowing..... on my other mailing list there's this
thing called the question of the week (QOTW). it's really fun and it
comes out every monday. i thought we could give it a try, and take
turns thinking of the ?. here goes:

if you've been lucky enough to see BP live, what was the best thing
about the experience and what did it mean to you???????

c'mon guys-get typin'!

here's my answer- i saw BP in AGYG twice, and the best thing about it
was seeing a her after the show. it's so great to know that someone
you look up to so much as an actor is a phenomenal person as well!
having her respond to things i said was like living in a dream!

now you can write one sentence, or one hundred sentences in your
answer, it really doesn't matter. can't wait to hear from you all

hugs,
heidi

ps- if i had time i would have written a better answer, but i have to
fly to play practice now (we're doin' once upon a mattress) and i
wanted to leave an example. luv to all! (and i really hope somone else
hasn't already done this on the list.....if so, im sorry, but im new!)

I have seen her live twice so far, both time she was playing the Witch in
Into the Woods (the first time was at the show, the second time was at the
10th anniversary concert in 1997), and will be seeing her live ASAP in Annie
Get Your Gun (woe is me, it sucks to have no money... and I am DYING to see
it after listening to the cd, it rocks!). The first time... I was 6. I do
remember her performance vividly, and that's not just b/c I have seen the
video a million times. She was absolutely stunning, both vocally and as an
actor... but what made it most memorable was after the show when I met her.
Ok, let me just say that the entire cast was amazingly nice... but she was
just so sweet, she and Chip Zien took me and my Grandma onto the stage...
and she gave me a lollypop when I was leaving :o) That, for me, is the
definition of Bernadette Peters. Just the nicest woman, taking time out
after a matinee to be nice to a 6 year old (who loved her then b/c of annie,
and asked "why do you always play mean people?"... who grew up to worship her)

Well I went to go see AGYG as I said a few days ago, and that was the firsr
time I have seen her live and the best thing about it was actually talking to
her after. I have to agree with Heidi on this one. To see her smile at you
and say "thank you" for telling telling her how great she is ...is...well no
words can really describe it I guess. I'm sure a lot of you agree. But
hearing her sing on stage in real life is quite a spectacular experience. Oh
how I wish they would do a revival of Into the Woods with the original
broadway cast! Maybe I'll right a letter to Sondheim :-) Yeah I'm sure that
would do a great deal of good. Oh well at least there is a movie of it

love always
Andy

Andy, the only problem with the movie is the fact that it is not available
in Australia!!! It was on TV years ago, and getting a copy is almost
impossible!! Noone I know has got a proper (ie- not pirated) copy!! I know
you can order over the net, but I'm pretty sure that the video tape used in
the states is not compatible with those we have in Oz!!
~Bec~
ps - if you let me, I'll rave on and on and on about ITW!!
